Every year, campuses across Canada dedicate a week in October to raising awareness of the issues and working conditions faced by Contract Faculty. This event is organized nationally by the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) and here by your union, the UBC Faculty Association.
On Tuesday, October 8, we hope that you’ll come by our Contract Faculty Committee’s booth at the Nest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., to meet and learn more about the experiences of your precariously employed co-workers and the important contributions these members make to the university.
The UBC Faculty Association remains committed to working on behalf of our Contract Faculty members. Fair Employment Week is a means to highlight to the university administration and students just how important Contract Academics are to the future of UBC.
