Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to announce that all four motions presented to the membership related to the proposed changes to our Constitution and Bylaws passed with the required three-quarters vote. The changes to the Constitution and Bylaws were driven by a legislative change to the Society Act, now called the Societies Act, SBC 2015, c. 18 (the “Act”) that came into force on November 28, 2016. The Faculty Association will now complete the transition process.
Thank you all members who attended our fall general meeting on October 30 and provided us with feedback on the proposed changes, which the Executive Committee will take into consideration as we discuss future changes to our Bylaws.
