The bargaining teams for UBC and the Faculty Association reached a tentative settlement for a new Collective Agreement for the period July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2029. Both the Faculty Association and the University worked hard over the past year to reach this mutually agreeable settlement.
In order for the Agreement to go into effect, it must be ratified by the members of the Faculty Association (and the Board of Governors). The Faculty Association’s negotiating committee believes that this agreement contains many positive outcomes for our members and the FA’s Executive Committee voted unanimously to recommend ratification. An Information Package containing the agreed-upon terms for the 2025-2029 Collective Agreement is now available on our website.
Members will be asked to ratify the new Collective Agreement before it takes effect. Information sessions on the new Agreement will be held online over the next two weeks. We encourage you to attend one of the following sessions before casting your ratification vote.
Please RSVP for your preferred info session:
Register for Wednesday, May 20th, 11:30am – 1pm
Register for Tuesday, May 26th, 1pm – 2:30pm (after the business portion of the AGM)
The sessions will be held online via Zoom with the link being sent to you in the morning just prior to the session.
The online Ratification Vote will open on Thursday, May 21st. Voting will close two weeks later at 4:30 pm on Thursday, June 4th, 2026. Members will receive an email invitation next week with full instructions on how to vote. You will be directed to the voting website and will need the password contained in your email invitation, as well as your 7-digit UBC Employee ID number, to submit your ballot. Electronic voting is conducted through third-party voting software to ensure that your vote remains anonymous.
If you have any questions about the information sessions or the ratification process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your support. We hope to see you at one of the meetings.
