2026 – Another Great Year for the Sessional Conference Fund

The Faculty Association is pleased to announce the award of 66 travel grants from the Sessional Conference Fund.

These grants will support our Sessional colleagues in their pursuit of important scholarly opportunities — whether that means attending conferences, presenting their scholarly/artistic work in international galleries or organizing symposia at major academic events. We know that academic travel can be both transformative and financially challenging, and this program is designed to help bridge that gap for members who have very few other sources of funding.

The Sessional Conference Fund was established more than a decade ago as a means of redistributing unused professional development funds from Continuing and Non-Continuing Sessionals that would otherwise be returned to the University at the end of the accrual period. The fund is topped up annually and capped at $200 000.

We endeavor to maximize the amount of the award and this year we successfully reached our goal of $1500 per grant. Successful applicants will be notified via email and can submit their receipts for reimbursement through Workday during their first appointment after the conference.

To our grant recipients – congratulations!
